Sunday’s
Updated: Mar 3
Usually sundays are the days where I can count on having a lot of nice conversations and get no work done in the shipyard at all.
It's the day of the week, where all the men who's boats are surrounding mine, have a day off to spend working on their boats
And being the only solo woman, and on top of that in the young age of 25 years, I magically seem to attract their attention.
So I mostly spend the Sundays laughing with them, sharing boat stories and defending my dream
There is this one guy, let's call him Wolfgang and he must be around 60/70 years old
He's still working, as a psychotherapist with people my age and younger
He makes me smile every Sunday and I can surely count on him coming and telling me just how strong, resilient and courage's I am.
He is possibly the sweetest soul I have encountered in a while.
And even though, I know, he is there wondering why I ain't coming today, and even though I know it would have been a blast to see him today, I am taking a Sunday off.
Because today, I am on my way to see my closest friends.
A tradition. We used to keep it quite closely, we met every Sunday for about 1 or 2 years
Getting all together and sharing about our week
But life became more busy for all of us. So we keep it at the last Sunday of the month now . I am excited to go there. To spend a day, where I won't come home scrubbing diesel off of my body for hours. But coming home, smelling of coffee, my friends and pure joy
Sunday
Always a beautiful day
